Rosita Lopez

ROSITA LOPEZ, 97, a resident of Truchas lost her battle with Alzheimer’s and Dementia on Friday, August 16, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her husband Fidel Lopez; parents, David and Josefita Pacheco; sisters, Cippirana Velarde and Mable Pacheco; granddaughter, Brenda Rinaldi, and grandson, John Sandoval.  Rosita is survived by her children, Rubel Lopez (Sharon) of Las Vegas Nevada, Josina Hoogenboom (Ron) of Bernalillo of New Mexico, Manuel Lopez (Rafelita) of Truchas, NM; she was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family of Rosita would like to thank the Amber care Hospice staff, ideal Home Care and all the family and friends for their thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Amber care. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, with a burial to follow at 2:15 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Jose Eluid Velarde, David Valdez, Gene Lopez, Anthony Lopez, Tommy Lopez and Danny Salazar, honorary pallbearers are Nora Romero, Helen Martinez, Sabinita Ortiz and Emily Lopez.
