Ronald (Ron) Shaw Sr.

Ronald Wayne Shaw Sr. (Ron) 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday March 16th, 2019. Ron was born on January 6th, 1953.  He was preceded in death by his Son Ronald Wayne Shaw Jr., Mother Oralia Padilla, Father Artie Shaw, Sister Linda Scalley, and Brother Bill Wilmerding.

He was raised in Mora NM and later moved to Santa Fe where he resided for the remainder of his life. He enlisted in the USMC after graduating from Santa Fe High School in 1971.

Ron was best known as the head of security for Rodeo Nites. He later went on to work for the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Ron was an avid fisherman who loved fishing the rivers of New Mexico. He had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and kept a positive outlook during difficult times. Ron was a member of Calvary Santa Fe.  He is survived by his sons Jacob and Joshua Shaw, Sisters Kathy, Tara, Frankie, and Catherine, Brothers Frank, Mark, and Eddie, step-mother, Margaret and Grandpet Velita; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who he loved dearly.   A special thank you to our mother Mary Lou Shaw for the Care and comfort of our dad.

A celebration of life service will be held at Calvary Santa Fe, 1295 Clark Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87507 on Saturday, March, 23, 2019 at 10:00 am; reception to follow at Calvary Santa Fe.  Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 10:30 am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NAMI-SF, PO Box 6423, SF, NM 87502 or Santa Fe Cancer Center.
