Barbara Ann Digby - passed from this earth on March 9th, 2018. Born April 5th, 1942 in London England, she came to America in 1970 after marrying Anthony William Digby on Sept 28th 1967. Leaving behind her homeland and her beloved Bank of England career to start a new life in America. She began her journey in Boston, Massachusetts and Rochester, New York before coming to Los Alamos in 1979 where she finally found her forever home. A resident of Los Alamos, NM for 38 years, she had finally found her true home.
Barbara loved meeting new people, learning about them and making them feel welcome. She considered everyone a friend no matter how long she had known them. Barbara was the first soccer coach to many elementary age children and could be seen coaching in her ever present high heels while cheering them on. She cheered loudest for her own children and was an ever present calming force.
She was the owner of the “The Pub” in White Rock NM where a stranger was never present, and a good time was always had. She was always the first to sponsor a youth team and loved giving her time to others. She lived a life of smiles and fun and was a mom to many but none more that her children Sean Digby and wife Keri Digby, Liam Digby, and Tara Larson and her husband Scott Larson. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren Aidan and Samuel Digby and Alexander Larson. Her greatest joy came from her family. In recent years she had found joy with her church family and gained peace and internal joy from the time spent with the congregation.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony William Digby and her parents and her brother Patrick Sullivan.
Besides her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her nephews Bryan and Adrian Sullivan along with many cousins and special friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donation to the American Diabetes Foundation. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, March 18th, 2018 at 7:30 pm. A Funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 19th, 2018 at 11:00 both at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Los Alamos. The family of Barbara Ann Digby has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
