After a lengthy battle with various debilitating illnesses, ANITA ROSE SCHAMAUN , of Los Alamos, passed peacefully into her loving Father’s arms on June 9, 2020. Anita was born on December 7, 1940 in Livingston, Montana and moved to Los Alamos in 1967 with her husband, Roger Schamaun. She is survived by her husband of 59 years; two daughters, Coene and Tammy (husband Rick); two of her seven siblings, various nieces and nephews; and her cat, Sadie.
Her family will hold a small family graveside service this Friday. When quarantine restrictions are lessened, a memorial service for friends and family will be held.
Anita was involved in supporting various missions through her church, her favorite one being God’s Pantry, which provides food to people in need. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite mission or charity that provides help to the homeless (Joy Junction or Albuquerque Rescue Mission).
Anita will be greatly missed but we rejoice knowing that she is now free of her suffering and pain. The family of Anita Rose Schamaun has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
