Rose Lucero

ROSE M. LUCERO, 79, a resident of Cuyamungue, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 15, 2019 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete Lucero and Nieves T. Fernandez; daughter, Kathy Borrego; sister, Prescilla Herrera; brother-in-law, Raymond Herrera; father of her children and former husband, Bobby Borrego. Rose is survived by her children,  Carmella Quintana and husband Walter of Santa Fe, Elizabeth Tuggle of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Michael Borrego and wife Debra of Santa Cruz; brother raised like a son, Elmer Lucero and wife Alice of Española; sister, Dorothy Guinn and husband Reuben (Bootie) of Española; grandchildren, Michelle and Brian Bustos, Jerry and Daniel Salazar, Rosana Garcia, Darryl, Anthony and Nathan Tuggle, Meranda and Ariel Borrego; great-grandchildren, Jamal, Sara, Erin, Ariana, Michael, Elijah, Nevaeh, DeeAna, Zaylani, Scarlett, Shontelle, and Amellia; one great great-grandchild on the way and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz with a memorial Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family of Rose M. Lucero has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
