Michael Cordova “Chocolate” 62, a lifelong resident of La Villita, born December 24, 1958, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021. Michael is preceded in death by his father Arturo Cordova and younger brother Joseph Cordova. Growing up in La Villita, Michael had the nickname “Chocolate” and had many friends within the community. He was employed for many years by the Los Alamos, Pojoaque, and Espanola Public Schools. Michael is survived by his mother Sylvia Cordova brothers; Kenny Cordova and Arthur (LuAnna) Cordova children; Jerome and Rhiana Cordova grandchildren that meant the world to him; Iziah, Izryell, Zia, Karma and Zaneya mother of his children Eufemia Cordova; Michael had many nephews and nieces; Nathan (Lauren), Zander, Jessica, Nia, and Sydney; close aunt Lydia and her daughters; MaeAnn, Emily (Sam), Denise, Iris (Nano) and their children. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a burial to follow at La Villita Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are; Daniel Colombe, Christopher Lopez, Samuel Maestas, Fabian Herrera, Johnny Sanchez and Eric Bustos, honorary pallbearers are Urban and Wilbur Martinez.
