Yvette Martinez

Yvette Martinez , age 91, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on April 27, 2019 after a brief illness. Yvette was preceded in death by her husband Filiberto J. Martinez, son Phillip Martinez and grandson Kevin Medina. Yvette met her husband Filiberto in Paris France during WWII and became a WWII wife. She was avid French cook and liked cooking and caring for people in need. She gave her family her French culture in the small town of Chimayo.  She is survived by daughters Catherine Vigil and husband Manny, and Viviane Medina; grandchildren, Steven Vigil and wife Kathleen, Andrea Campos and husband Tomas, and Jennifer Strati and husband Michael; 9 great grandchildren; and a very special person in her life Andrew Medina; along with other numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday May 7, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home.
