YVETTE SANCHEZ, 54, a resident of Ohkay Owingeh, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 following a lengthy illness. She was a loving wife, daughter and mother to her children. Yvette was the solid rock around which her family was built and was always there to be leaned upon when needed. She loved country music, Elvis, chocolate, traveling and most of all the simple days when she spent time with her family. Although her last months were difficult, she made it a point to enjoy every second that she could. Convincing her husband and children to take her on a road trip even when she wasn’t feeling well or just doing simple things around the house showed her strength and tenacity. Even though her disease eventually stole her away from her loved ones, she lived the way that she wanted and never compromised and in that, she beat the disease. Mrs. Sanchez is survived by her father, Louie Burck; husband, John Sanchez; children, Janice, Rebecca and Johnny; sisters, Yvonne and Wynona; brother, Ronald and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Services have taken place. The family of Yvette Sanchez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
