Willie Trujillo

April 28, 1934 — July 24, 2018

On July 14, 2018 surrounded by family, God sent his angels to welcome into Heaven our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bill was born on April 28, 1934 on the family farm in Chamita, New Mexico to Guillermo & Maria Trujillo. After graduating from Espanola HS, Willie served in the US Air Force and was a Police Officer in Santa Fe where he met his future wife Magdalene Serrano and they were married in November of 1958. They traveled the Western United States while Bill worked as a Communications Specialist for the Government until 1964 when they settled in Spokane to raise their family. He retired from Pacific Telecom Phone Company in 1993 and devoted himself to his family and going to the “Spa” (YMCA) to exercise. Willie was always encouraging us to excel and do our best. We will greatly miss his sense of humor, generous heart and wisdom. Willie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years Magdalene, daughter Bea Andrus (Bruce), son Dennis, brothers Fidel, Fidencio (Rosie) and Eloy (Frances), grandchildren Tom (Kali), Ken, Terry (Sarah) and Katie (Joshua), great-grandchildren Evangeline, Alaina and Harper. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lizzie Salas and Lita Salazar, brother Sef Trujillo and sister-in-law Melina Trujillo. Funeral service and reception was held at 1:00pm Saturday, July 21st at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home. The family of Willie Alfonso Trujillo as entrusted DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory to place this courtesy announcement.
