Wences (Wenceslao) Age - 80 - Chili Abeyta

Wences (Wenceslao) Abeyta, 80, a resident of Chili, NM and formerly of La Puebla, NM went home to be with our Lord peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2012, with his loving family by his side. Wences was a well-known business man throughout New Mexico, who worked very hard and who passed on his wonderful work ethic to his children. He was a great provider to his family and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and being outdoors. He had a gentle, kind heart and was a very giving person. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teofilo and Maria Abeyta; brothers: Tony Abeyta and Reverend Epimenio Abeyta; sisters: Senaida and Sally Abeyta; sons: Rudy Abeyta and infant son Jr. Wences is survived by his wife, Martha Abeyta; children: Vences Abeyta Jr. and wife Jeanell, James Abeyta and wife Rebecca, Walter Abeyta and wife Almi, Emily Archuleta and husband Alfonso, Evette Abeyta, Sharon Moya and husband Jeff, and Christopher Abeyta; step-children: Perla and Jesus Rascon; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Abeyta; mother of his children, Alice Abeyta; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Severa DeAguero; sisters-in-law: Lydia and Ulalia Abeyta; countless other loving relatives & friends. A devotional service will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Church in Chimayo. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lighthouse Church in Chimayo. Burial will follow at the Lighthouse Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Rudy Abeyta Jr., Matthew Abeyta, Jeffery and Delano Moya, Norbert and Andrew Abeyta and Alfonso Archuleta Jr.; honorary pallbearers: Larry Sanchez, Gilbert and Cecil DeAguero, Sammy, Jerry, David and Jimmy Abeyta. We would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff from the Española valley Nursing Home, and Ambercare Hospice for the wonderful care which Wences received during his last years.
