Wanda Lopez-Martinez

WANDA LOPEZ-MARTINEZ, 53, a resident of Velarde, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Emma Lopez; daughter, Nadine Lopez; grandparents, Silviano and Eloisa Romero and aunt, Priscilla Diaz. Wanda was a very loving and caring person who loved cooking with a passion, gardening, canning, knitting. She was very outspoken in her faith with the Lord. She catered to her husband. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her husband, Benny Martinez; brothers, Terry Lopez (Vera), Manuel Lopez (Petronila) and Michael Lopez (Annabelle); sister, Carol Lopez; grandchildren, Jasmine, Jocelyn, Kayla and Shannon; sisters-in-law, Lydia Sandoval and Molly Cordova and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a devotional service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Burial to take place on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Loma Vista Cemetery in Alcalde with the following serving as pallbearers, Terry Lopez, Michael Lopez, Ben Martinez, Manuel Lopez, Bito Sandoval, Jose Martinez, Joshua Cordova and Dennis Gutierrez. Honorary pallbearers named, Nick, Nikki, Carol, Jodi and Eric Lopez. The family of Wanda Lopez-Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
