VIRGINIA L. ROMERO, a lifelong resident of Nambe, was born January 1, 1926 and went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose C. Romero; parents, Gregorio and Beroniz Lopez and Julian and Rose Trujillo; in-laws, Atanacio and Petra Romero; son, Horacio Romero, grandsons, Steven Martinez and Gregory Romero; sister, Ernestine Trujillo, brothers, Leopoldo, Maclovio, and Horacio Lopez, brothers and sister-in-law, Louis, Augustine, and Altagracia Romero. Virginia enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of everyone. Her door was always open and there was always room at her table. She especially enjoyed her weekly visit from her “Consentido” great, great grandson Anthony. She was a devoted member of Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Parish and the Sacred Heart Church in Nambe. She was strong, humble and loving and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children Erlinda and Richard Key and family, Victoria, Mateo, Devin and Jacob; Pete and Angie Romero and family, Dave and Louie, Loyola and Raymond Garcia and family, James, Arlene, Alyssa, Michael, Anthony, Gabriella, Steven and James Lee, Dolores Romero and Family, Amie, Ted and Ashleyrae, George and Virginia Romero and Family, Stacey and Neal, Marlene and Charlie Lujan and family, Nicholas and Eduardo, Patsy and Albert Martinez and Alex, Roberta and Asencion Martinez and family Tamara, Eli, Judy, Brittany, Matthew, Keyana, and Xander; sisters, Miquela and husband Arturo Romero, Prescilla and husband Joe Lovato, and Rafaelita Martinez; sister-in-law, Mary Quintana; the following held a special place in her heart, Katie, Khloe, Kristy Alire, Azariah, Ethan, Baily and Micah Rohrs. Public visitation will begin on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 6:00p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 12:45 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.  Serving the family as pallbearers, Alex Martinez, Joseph Lovato, Leroy Lopez, Rick Romero, Mateo DeVargas and Robert Garcia; honorary pallbearers, Stacey R. Palmer, Eduardo Lujan, Nicholas Lujan, Louie Romero, Adrian Ortiz, Michael Lopez, Dani Bustos, Manuelito Garcia, Lonnie Martinez, and her God children, Leonard Lopez, Darlene Garcia, Joseph Lovato and Dave Romero.  The family of Virginia L.
