Virginia Pacheco Atencio, 81, a resident of Dixon, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Thursday, May 1, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Atencio Sr.; infant son Earl Atencio, son Wilbert Atencio; parents, Jose Ismael and Refugio Pacheco; in-laws, Benjamin and Delmiria Atencio; brother, Henry Pacheco; infant sisters, Eliza and Maria De La Luz Pacheco. Mrs. Atencio was well known throughout the Dixon Community where she made many friends who loved her. Her faith in God was high and active where she kept her involvement with the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church until the very end. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Atencio is survived by her sons, Henry Atencio Sr. and wife Bobbie, Pedro Atencio Jr. and wife Darlene, and Duane Atencio; brothers and sisters, Josefita Garcia, Nelson Pacheco and wife Vicky, Gilbert Pacheco and wife Katherine, Gladys Rodriguez, Lilian Gurule, Joe Henry Pacheco, James Pacheco and wife Libby, and Mary Sanchez and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Kevin Pacheco Sr., Henry Atencio Jr., and wife Savannah, Lori Atencio, Andrew Atencio and Johnny Atencio, great grandchildren, Noah Atencio, and Kevin Pacheco Jr.,, plus many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Dixon, with a burial to follow at Father Cooper Cemetery in Dixon. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Kevin Pacheco, Henry Atencio Jr., Andrew Atencio, Johnny Atencio, Lori Atencio, and Noah Atencio, honorary pallbearer named is Kevin Pacheco Jr. The family of Virginia Atencio has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.\r\n \r\n
