Violet Rose Age - 81 Chimayo Trujillo

Violet Rose Trujillo – Age 81, a longtime resident of Chimayo passed away at her home on Sunday, September 4, 2011 after a long illness. She came to Española as a mission nurse in the 1950’s and was the youngest of our siblings born in Jamestown, North Dakota to Gottleib and Mary Gruneich of Kulmn, North Dakota. As a registered nurse, she dedicated her life to healing, helping and comforting others. She first worked in Jamestown at the Crippled Children’s School, then at West mar College in Le Mars, Iowa, where she served as campus nurse and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and finally she worked at Española Hospital for nearly 40 years. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin “Mr. Ben” Trujillo in 2008. She is survived by her sons: Roy Benjamin Trujillo and his wife Lora of Nutley, NJ, Mark Mario Trujillo of Santa Fe; daughters: Paula Elizabeth Trujillo and Angel Rose Trujillo; grandchildren: Dawn Daisy Vigil, Brielle D’Shae Trujillo, Kaitlyn Rose Trujillo and Benjamin Phillip Trujillo; great-grandchildren: Juliette Martinez, Romeo Martinez and Melody Trujillo; many other relatives & friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at El Buen Pastor Presbyterian Church in Chimayo. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to El Buen Pastor Presbyterian Church in Chimayo or the Boys and Girls Club Del Norte in Chimayo, or the Trujillo Family Foundation Scholarship Fund.
