Viola Maestas

Viola T. Maestas, a resident of Española left this world to be with our Lord on Saturday June 13, 2015, she was surrounded by her loving family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Maestas; Parents Lucia and Edwardo Trujillo; Sister Selina Ulibarii, brother, Florentino Trujillo; and grandson Richard “Ricky” Martinez.

Viola was born to Lucia and Edwardo Trujillo on August 15, 1930.  She was born in Peñasco NM, and raised in Park View NM.
She is survived by  her children, Raymond Martinez of La Villita,  Annette Bustos and partner Albert Roybal of La Cieniga, Willie Martinez of Espanola, Bobby Martinez and wife Margie of Dixon and Carol Razler and husband David of Lakeland FL;  sister, Connie Beavers of Espanola, and brother, Teufilo Trujillo and wife Emiliana  of Santa Fe; grandchildren Raylyne, Reyna, Nicholas, Christopher, Bobby, Chance, Barbara, James and Annabelle, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great -great- grandchildren,  Geraldine Shaw and Pricilla Leyba who were like daughters to her.
Viola loved getting her hair done, she loved her KFC and her lemon meringue pie. She loved to play Bingo and cards. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Serving the family as pallbearers are Christopher Blanco, Rick Bustos, Albert Roybal, Jorge Gonzalez, Mathew Trujillo, and Pablito Martinez, honorary pallbearers, Nicholas, Raylyne, Reyna, and David Jr. The family of Viola T.
