Victor L. - Age 74 - La Puebla Martinez

Victor L. Martinez, 74, a resident of La Puebla, passed away following a lengthy illness on Sunday, October 26, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esquipula and Benita Martinez; brothers, Albert and Gilbert Abran Martinez, sister, Corine Martinez. Victor was a loving and kind son, brother, and uncle. He took good care of his parents until their last days. Victor loved his nephews and nieces. He loved his dogs and cats. He also enjoyed listening to music. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Victor is survived by his sisters, Amy Sanchez and husband James of La Puebla, Esther Herrera, brother, Jerry R. Martinez and companion Corine Sherwood; nephews, Anthony Martinez and wife Irene, Michael Sanchez, and wife Judy, Brian Herrera, Jerry Martinez, Jr. and companion Desiree, and Steven Sanchez all of La Puebla; nieces, Linda Herrera and husband Edward of Chamita, Roberta Trujillo, Dorothy Martinez and husband Mark of La Mesilla, Angie Martinez and husband Damian of La Mesilla, Benita Martinez of la Puebla and Holly Garcia and husband Gerald of Albuquerque, and many numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial to follow at the La Puebla Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Lupe Martinez, Richard Trujillo, Danny Vigil, Jody, and Donald Rios. The family of Victor L. Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
