Victoria Martinez

VICTORIA MARTINEZ, 94, a lifelong resident of Canjilon, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Esmeraldo Martinez, Sr.; sons, Esmeraldo Martinez, Jr., and Raymond Martinez; parents, Juan Ramon and Beroniz Martinez; siblings, Anita Martinez, Crucita Vigil, Heraldo, Antonio and Lucaria Martinez. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her children, Albert (Irene) Martinez, Isabel (Roger) Martinez, Amalia (Paul) Baca, Ardy Martinez, Elsie (Ross) Martinez, Belinda Valdez, Loyda (Danny) Martinez, Jean (Kevin) Childers, Vicki (Tito) Rodela, Nelda (George) Montaño, Tony (Loreta) Martinez, Jake (Vangie) Martinez and Jamie (Andrea) Martinez; sisters, Alice Montaño of Utah and Atocha Vigil of Canjilon; 47 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. A second public viewing will be on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 9:30a.m. at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon with a rosary to follow at 10:00 a.m.  Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated immediately after at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the Canjilon Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Martin Martinez, Roger Martinez, Jr., Emery Baca, Ronny Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Joshua Montaño, Ian Rodela and Jonas Martinez. Honorary pallbearers named are, Michael Sandoval, Oliver Martinez, Jennifer Nieto, Amanda Ulibarri and Christina Davis. The family of Victoria Martinez has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory or the Española Valley.
