Victor - Age 90 - Chimayo - Martinez

VICTOR B. MARTINEZ, 90, a lifelong resident of Chimayo, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2014 following a brief illness in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elisia Martinez; son, Bobby Martinez; parents, Benito and Isadora Martinez; grandson, Johnathan Montoya; brothers, Isidoro and Genaro Martinez; son-in-law, Fred Roybal and granddaughter, Ariana. Mr. Martinez was a hardworking and loving father and grandfather who has left a permanent mark in all those he met. Mr. Martinez is survived by his children, Flora Garcia (Ben), Viola Martinez companion (Lorenzo), Margie Trujillo (Nelson), Virginia Montoya (Nelson), Martha Martinez (Danny), Teresita Roybal, Michael Martinez (Carol) and Rubel Martinez (Lori); sister, Eulalia Abeyta; brother, Abel Martinez (Susie); 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter and numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. also in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, burial will follow at Nuestra Senora de Dolores Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo. Serving the family as pallbearers, Vickie, Victor, Eric, Markilee, Lance, Kevin, Craig and Benjamin. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
