Vickie Age - 54 - Española Valdez

Vickie Valdez, 54, a resident of Española passed away from a lengthy illness on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. She loved to spend time with her family and especially looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren. She was a collector of jewelry and sold the newspaper to have money for the grandkids. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Vickie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jose Maria and Rebecca Valdez; uncles, Horacio Gutierrez, Nestor Valdez and Henry and Paul Valdez; aunt, Genoveva Valdez and cousin, Rhonda Gutierrez. Vickie is survived by her daughters: Heather ValdezHern and husband Samuel of Española, Camil ValdezGarduño and husband Donnie of Española; grandchildren: Angelus and Amethyst ValdezHern, Xavier ValdezGarduño; parents, Gilberto and Rose Valdez of Chama; brothers/sister: Johnny, Joseph Felix, Mildred and Larry Valdez; brother who was like a son, Jeremiah Keith Valdez and wife Pamela; maternal grandparents: Jose Dolores and Antonia Gutierrez of Chama; nieces/nephews: Jannelle Valdez, Destiny Valdez, Edward Rodriguez, Rebecca Lynn Valdez, Larry Valdez Jr., Jeremiah and Tizerah Gonzales, Keith, Paidence and Neomiah Valdez; best friend, Barbara Martinez; numerous other loving relatives & friends. Cremation has taken place. Public visitation will be held on Friday, August 3. 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española with Father Vitus officiating. The family is accepting memorial contributions, memorial contributions may be made to her account at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory.
