Vickie Martinez, 65, a resident of Chama passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Wood and son, Richard Archuleta. Vickie was a graduate of the Chama High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Vickie loved the outdoors. She will be dearly missed. May she rest in peace. Vickie is survived by her children, Judy Maes (Dennis) of Ojo Caliente, Michele Jordan (Guy), Wade Wood and companion Chantay Ferrell, Gloria Deyapp all of Chama, Dorothy Phillips (Darrel) of Santa Fe, Patsy Alcon (Michael) of Chama, Rupert Martinez (Barbara) of Farmington, Vangie Montoya (Cliff) of Farmington, Jimmy Martinez (Julia) of Chama, Millie Martinez (Ray) of Roseburg, OR, Benjie Martinez (Cindy) and Higinio Martinez (Valerie) all of Farmington and numerous other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at the Chama Community Church. Burial to follow at the Chama Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Wade Wood, Jeff Wood Sr., Mathew Jordan, Christopher Jordan, Michael Jordan, Elijah Miera, Edwardo Montoya, Benjie Martinez, Higinio Martinez, Darren DeYapp, and Joel DeYapp. Honorary pallbearers are Juan Martinez, Dennis Maes, Jim Martinez, and Jeff wood Jr. The family of Vickie Martinez have entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
