Valentino Tzigiwhaeno Rivera, 8, a resident of Pojoaque, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Friday, May 13, 2016. Valentino Tzigiwhaeno is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Fermin and Felicianna Viarrial, Otis and Cecilia Rosacker, Jose and Isabelle Ortiz and paternal grandfather, Jose A Rivera. Valentino Tzigiwhaeno is member of the Pojoaque Pueblo, Pueblo of Pojoaque Youth Hoop Dance Group, and the Pueblo of Pojoaque Boys and Girls Club.  He was a student at Pablo Roybal Elementary School and participated in the Pojoaque Valley Soccer League, Rio Rapids Northern Soccer League and Silver Bullets Basketball. Valentino Tzigiwhaeno is survived by his parents, George and Felicia Rivera; brother, PaaWee L. Rivera; sisters, Poqueen L. Rivera and Iris Paloma Rivera; paternal grandmother, Dora Martinez; maternal grandparents, Charles (Buddy) and Rita Rosacker; paternal uncles and aunts, Eddie Lopez and children, Liborio Lopez and children, Dennis Lopez and children, Stan and Priscilla Moya and children,  Joann Rivera and son, James and Carla Rivera and children, Daniel Moya and children, Veronica Varela and children, Robert Orozco and children and many more cousins from Pojoaque Pueblo; maternal uncles and aunts, Cecilia Rosacker and children, Patricia Rosacker and children, Alan and Laurie Blyth and children, John and Monique Strong and children;  godparents, Broderick and Catherine Sharp, Chris Rosacker and children and many more Rosacker-Ortiz cousins; dear lifelong friends, Sheila Archuleta and Gil Gutierrez; Tewa Godparents, Benny and Gail Tapia; and numerous friends across the world. A wake for Valentino Tzigiwhaeno to be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Rivera residence in Pojoaque. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe. Traditional Burial to follow at the Pojoaque Community Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers are, Chris Rosacker, Sean Benally, Liborio Lopez, James Rivera, Broderick Sharp, Nakotah LaRance and the following serving as honorary pallbearers, Gil Gutierrez, James Victor Rivera, Tony Abeyta, and Steve LaRance. The family of Valentino Tzigiwhaeno Rivera has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505-747-7477
