Triny R. Romero, 95, a resident of El Rancho, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 23, 2016, surrounded by her beloved family. Triny was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Maclovia Roybal; her husband of 68 years, Aguinaldo; sons, David and Juan (Rogue) Romero; daughter, Patsy Borgeson; and sisters, Fulgencia Duran and Rose Gonzales and Brother-in-law, Ignacio Gonzales of San Diego, California. Triny was a devoted wife and mother, having raised nine children while working the family farm and working in Los Alamos till the ripe age of eighty. She enjoyed going to the casino and eating out and spending time with her family. She would read the newspapers from one end to the other and watch the news on T.V. and always kept up with current events. Her favorite T.V. programs were Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Triny is survived by her daughters, Stella (Bernie) Montano of Santa Fe; Rebecca Rivera (Dave) of Denver, CO; Arlene (Richard) Quintana of Albuquerque; Sandra (Jose) Mendoza of El Rancho; Elaine (Manuel) Chavez of La Puebla; and son, Gene Romero of Kansas; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; a close nephew, Leroy Duran of El Rancho; a close niece, Edna Perrington of Oceanside, CA.; two close neighbors, Gus Roybal and Mel Chaney; her loving caregiver, Gloria Garcia of Albuquerque; and many other nieces and nephews, family and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque; burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers; her grandsons, Jason Montano, Shawn Quintana, Michael Mendoza, Jacob Tenorio, great nephew, Dennis Duran, and Gus Roybal.
