Toribio Vigil

TORIBIO “TOBY” VIGIL, 39, a resident of Chimayo, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 20, 2015. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Juan D. and Mary E. Vigil; paternal grandparents, Ramon and Adela Villezcas. Toby loved cutting hair. He loved being in the outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing. He had a big heart, he was a person who was very giving and was a wonderful person.  He loved his kids and his family very much. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Mr. Vigil is survived by his children, Toby Vigil, Jr., and Destiny Vigil both of Denver, CO, and Josiah Vigil of Pecos; step-children, Divinity Garcia, and Jeremy Garcia both of Española; mother, Bernadine Dominguez of Chimayo; step-father, Demitrio Luna, father, Toribio Villezcas of Albuquerque; sisters, Mary Espinoza of Española; brother-in-law, Ron Espinoza of Chimayo, JoAnn Martinez and husband Michael of Rio Chama; brother, Israel Luna and companion Holly of Chimayo, half-brothers, Ramon and Armando Villezcas; half-sister, Irma Villezcas all of Albuquerque; nieces and nephews, Mariah and Ray Martinez, Samantha and Emily Espinoza; aunts and uncles, Yvette DeVargas and husband Hilario of Española, Shirley Quintana of Oklahoma, Orlando Vigil and wife Sarah of Arizona, Steve Vigil and wife Cora, Louie Vigil and wife Elsie of all of Albuquerque, Phillip Vigil and wife Christine of Chimayo, David Vigil and wife Mela and Cipriano Villezcas and wife Debra all of Albuquerque; mothers of his children, Fernanda Herrera and Desauri Maestas; his companion, Victoria Gonzales and numerous other relatives and friends. A public visitation will begin on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Victory Faith Church in Española with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Nuestra Señora de Dolores cemetery in Chimayo.  Serving the family as pallbearers, Toby Vigil Jr., Ron Espinoza, Paul Valdez, Israel Luna, Jody Quintana, Manuel Vigil, Elijah Vigil and Robbie Quintana.  Honorary pallbearers are Louie Vigil, Carlos Lucio, Juanito Vigil, Phillip Gomez, Albert Quintana, Manuel Marrufo, Roger Mortensen and Larry DeVargas.
