TONY ALEX TRUJILLO, 76, peacefully passed away at his home in Cordova surrounded by his loving family after battling a lengthy illness. Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Candido and Sarita Trujillo; brother, Willie Trujillo; great grandson Alexavier Lucero; nephews, Candido Romero, Willie Trujillo Jr., and Kenny Romero. Tony was a veteran who served in the Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. As a patriot he was an active member of the American Legion Post 89 in Truchas. He worked in the mine in Grants, a laborer in Los Alamos and retired as a security guard from Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Tony was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved spending time with his horses. When no one could catch fish grandpa always did! He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. Tony was a great husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, who will be dearly missed!
Tony is survived by his wife of 54 years Lillian; mother in-law, Bernie Martinez; children, Charlene Miera (Steve) of Cordova, Alex Trujillo (Charlotte) of Cordova, and Michelle Garr (Patrick) of Albuquerque; Grandchildren, Jeremy (Jean-Guera), Chere (Fermin), Anthony (Jen), Mallory, Lexy, Lilia and Daniel, great-grandchildren, Josh, Zuriel, Jayce, Kristan, Ilah, Zavey and Cade; sister Bernie (Arsenio) of Cordova, brothers, Joe (Toni) of Las Vegas, NV, Johnny (Estela) of Henderson, NV, Eliseo (Yolanda) of Chimayo; sisters in-law and brothers in-law; Mardy (Berna), Darlene (JR), Jimmy (Theresa), Eli (Elizabeth), Toby (Sandra), Joe (Claudelle), and many special nieces and nephews. Public visitation will begin on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nephews Adrian and Timothy Trujillo, honorary pallbearers, Sebedeo Sandoval, Joe Romero, Noberto (Chopper) Romero, Mardy Martinez, JR Martinez, John Gonzales, Liberato Gonzales, Raymond Maestas, Ciriaco Herrera, Joe Trujillo, Ray Trujillo, Juan Trujillo, Phil Sanchez, Robert Borrego, and Compadres Ruben and Elsie Duran.
