Tony Martinez

TONY D. MARTINEZ, 93, a resident of Chama, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 4, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Martinez of 71 years; son, Robert Martinez. Mr. Martinez is survived by his daughters, Toni and husband Henry Gallegos of Chama, Genevieve and husband Gene Holloway of Corinth, TX, Eginita and husband Johnny Ulibarri of Chama, Judy Martinez of Chama and grand-daughter Jennifer Gallegos and husband Chris Gallegos of Chama, Sandra Martinez and granddaughter Jessica Cordova and husband Brandon of Chama; sons, Richard and wife Edna Martinez of Albuquerque, Michael and wife Vickie Martinez of Santa Fe, Steve Martinez of Santa Fe. He was blessed with 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Public visitation will begin on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chama with Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated immediately at 11:00 p.m. Burial to follow at the Chama Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Cory Gallegos, Chris Gallegos, Gene Holloway, Jr., Christopher Martinez, Josehuis Gallegos and Henry Gallegos, Jr. The family of Tony D. Martinez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
