Tony Martinez

Tony L. Martinez 35 of El Duende passed away peacefully on February 15,2022 surrounded by his family. He was proceeded in death by his parents Tony C. Martinez and Connie C. Vigil both of El Duende and uncle Benerito Vigil of Chimayo.

Tony is survived by his high school sweetheart/loving wife Brittany Martinez, daughter Amber Martinez and son Dustin Martinez of Española. Sisters Hignia Padilla (Andrew), Jennifer Law (Heath) all of El Duende, Tomasita Martinez of Alcalde, and cousin raised like a sister Reina Castillo of Espanola. Father and Mother-in-law John & Martha Austin. Sister in laws Melissa Austin and Jennifer Osegueda (Joseph) all of Espanola. God children Kyana Osegueda, Abram Padilla and Monica Castillo. Along with numerous nieces, nephews and great niece.

Tony was a Tire and Lube technician for several years at the local Wal-Mart. Tony was a very knowledgeable mechanic who was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends in his spare time. His love and passion was always the cowboy way teaching his kids the ranch life and spending time with his wife and kids at his ranch. He also loved supporting his son who played football and his daughter as a cheerleader.

Serving as pallbearers are: Luke Barela, Joseph Osegueda, Matt Smith, Brandon Salazar, Andrew Padilla and Heath Law.

Honorary pallbearers are: Special aunts and uncles Michael Vigil, Martha Vigil, Erminio Martinez, Mary Martinez and close friend James Salazar.

A public visitation will be held on March 3, 2022, at 5:00pm with a rosary to follow at 6:00 pm in the Sangre De Cristo chapel of DeVargas Funeral home and crematory. Mass of christian burial will be held at 12 noon on Friday March 4, 2022, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Espanola, with burial to follow at the Sacred Heart cemetery.
