Tony - Age- 86 - Santa Clara Pueblo Gutierrez

Tony Gutierrez, 86, a resident of Santa Clara Pueblo passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho surrounded by his family. Tony was preceded in death by his brothers, Leandro, Frank, Valentino, Celestino, and LaCruz Gutierrez; daughter, Naomi Gutierrez and grandson, Eric Tenorio; son-in-law, Eloy Suazo. Tony was born June 1, 1927 to Eugene and Faustina Tafoya both of Santa Clara Pueblo. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Teresa V. Gutierrez; brother, Alfonso Owens; sisters, Candy Naranjo and Nina Motah; daughters, Carol (Frank) Brewer, Doris (Victor) Loretto, and Marie Suazo; sons, Tony Gutierrez, Jr., Earl (Eleanor) Gutierrez, Ivan Gutierrez, Andrew “AJ” Gutierrez, Byron Gutierrez and Ryan Gutierrez, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, uncles, aunts, relatives, and friends. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff of UNM, PHS, and St. Vincent Hospital for their medical attention. A rosary and viewing was held at his home in Santa Clara Pueblo on Monday, February 24, 2014. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara Catholic Church in Santa Clara Pueblo. The family of Tony Gutierrez has entrusted their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
