Tonnie M. Abeyta, 93, a resident of Española passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2013 with her family by her side. Tonnie was preceded in death by her husband; Rodolfo Abeyta, parents, Victoriano and Albinita Quintana, brothers; Espedirion, Manuel Sr., Santiago, and Benito Quintana, sister; Aggie Serna-Baltazar. She is survived by her daughter; Amy Hightower of Atlanta GA., son, Rudy Abeyta Jr., and wife Yvette of Española, sister Ruby Marchant of Española, brother, Benjamin Quintana of Espanola, grandchildren, Steven Hightower of Atlanta GA., Kristiana Abeyta and companion Elias Salazar of Albuquerque, great-grandson, Estevan Salazar, plus other loving nieces, nephews relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada, with a burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Dennis Quintana, Joseph Quintana, Leroy Espinoza, Manuel Quintana Jr., Robert Quintana, and Daniel Roybal. The family of Tonnie Abeyta has entrusted their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
