Tobias "Toby" age - 67 Cundiyo Vigil

Tobias “Toby” Vigil, 67, a resident of Cundiyo, New Mexico passed away on Monday, December 6, 2010. He was a life long resident of Cundiyo, and a member of Santo Domingo Catholic Church of Cundiyo. An avid outdoor person, he mainly pursued cattle raising and ranching. He loved his family immensely, especially his wife, Connie. He enjoyed spending time with his friends in Canjilon, whom he considered family. He retired from LANL, after 23 years of dedicated service. He suffered for many years due to a lengthy illness, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Toby was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. & Mrs. Elizardo C. Vigil. He is survived by his wife, “Connie” Consuelo Vigil of Cundiyo; sons: Steve Vigil and Randy Vigil both of Cundiyo, Barney Vigil and companion Jeanine Martinez of Shadow Mountain, Marvin Vigil and wife Marsha of Nambe; 7 grandchildren: Gabriel, Delila and husband Jared, Julian, Larissa, Nakeisha, Elias, Mia; great-granddaughter, Julia; brother, Tomas and companion Virginia of Taos. Public visitaion will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel at DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers: Randy Vigil, Barney Vigil, Marvin Vigil, Elias Vigil, Billy Vigil, Julian Vigil, Steve Vigil, Tim Medina; honorary pallbearers: Gabriel Vigil, Ernesto Garcia, Tomas Vigil, Tito Garcia and Chris and Nathan Martinez. Special Thanks to close friends: Abelardo “Ernesto” and Geraldine Garcia & family and Corrine Lucero, and the Doctors, nurses and staff at Christus St. Vincent Hospital. The Vigil family wishes to thank all family and friends for their support during this difficult time.
