Tobias Martinez

TOBIAS “TOBY” MARTINEZ, 57,  a resident of Ranchitos, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 of a long battle with cancer.  He is preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Martinez; paternal grandparents, Leopoldo and Trinidad Martinez, maternal grandparents, Benancio and Margarita Baca; nephew, Antonio Valdez and many other uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Toby was a simple man, who was a musician and loved music and enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Tobias Martinez, and Johnny Martinez (Margarita); granddaughter, Julianna Martinez; parents, Tony and Mary Martinez; brothers, Tony Martinez Jr. (Lori), Ben Martinez, Tommy Martinez and Fabian Martinez who was like a brother, sisters, Judy Archuleta (Anthony), Jennifer Martinez (Joe), Rosalie Gallegos (Jason), Debra Martinez (Aaron); special uncle, Dan Baca (Eva), special aunt, Berlin Padilla (Leo), and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Public visitation will begin on Tuesday October 26, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to follow at 2:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian burial will begin on Thursday October 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Santa Cruz de la Canada Catholic Church. Serving the family as honorary pallbearers are his son’s Tobias and Johnny Martinez.
