Tina - Age 74 - La Madera Vargas

Tina Vargas, age 74, a resident of La Madera, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Vargas was preceded in death by her parents, Bernardo and Victoria Sisneros; brothers, Bernardito Jr., and Ignacio Sisneros; and sister, Prescilla Chacon. Tina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had many talents such as cooking, baking, she was an amazing seamstress and was hard working. Tina was an active member of La Sociedad del Sagrado Corazon de la Madera and also the Senior Olympics, where she received the courage award plaque. She also had a passion for fishing, going for wood with her husband, camping and she loved the outdoors. Tina lived mostly for her husband, children and grandchildren but also had such a magnetic personality that drew so many people to her. She will be dearly missed – rest in peace. Tina is survived by her husband, Alfonso Vargas Sr. of La Madera; children, Alfonso Vargas Jr. and wife Peggy of Chimayo, Victor D. Vargas and wife Nancy of El Guache, Ross Vargas Sr. and wife Phyllis of La Madera, Arlene R. Milich and husband Tom of Espanola and Joel A. Vargas Sr. and wife Ruth Ann of El Duende; grandchildren, Nathaniel Vargas, Daniel Vargas, Yvette Vargas, Andrea Vargas, Ross Vargas Jr., Tammy Archuleta, Andrew Vargas, Miranda Garcia, David Milich, Joel Vargas Jr., and Candace Vargas; great-grandchildren, little Vic Corral. Hailey Archuleta, Alexia Archuleta and one on the way; sisters, Delma Jacquez and husband Clyde, Lydia Gallegos and beloved husband Richard, Cora Martinez and beloved husband Richard and Olivia Rael and husband Cloveo, as well as other loving relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Monday, September 1, 2014 at 6:30p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory, with a rosary to follow at 7:00p.m. A second rosary will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 7:00p.m. at the Oratorio de La Madera. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in La Madera with a burial to follow at the Vargas private family plot. Assisting as pallbearers will be, Nathaniel Vargas, Daniel Vargas, Ross Vargas Jr., Andrew Vargas, David Milich and Joel Vargas Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be, Yvette Vargas, Andrea Vargas, Miranda Garcia, Tammy Archuleta, Candace Vargas; great-grandchildren, Hailey Archuleta, Alexia Archuleta and little Vic Corral. The family of Tina Vargas has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Espanola Valley.\r\n
