TIMOTHY A. TAPIA, SR., 49, a resident of Nambe, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward E. and Mary V. Tapia. Timothy was in the United States Army from 1989 to 1991 and the New Mexico National Guard from 1991 to 1999. He was a 1988 graduate of New Mexico State University; he received a Master’s of Business Administration from UNM, Anderson School of Management in 1995. Mr. Tapia is survived by his son, Timothy Anthony Tapia, Jr. of Gilbert, Arizona; brothers and sisters, Edmund E. Tapia of Pojoaque, Patricia Tapia-Gomez of El Rancho, Christina Terpanick of Colonia, New Jersey, Teresa Day of Phoenix, Arizona and John Tapia of La Puebla; T.J.’s mother, Heidi Smith-Evans of Gilbert, Arizona and numerous other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nambe. Burial to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Timothy A. Tapia, Sr. Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo location. The family of Timothy A. Tapia, Sr. has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
