THOMAS A. RIVERA, 43, a resident of Abiquiu, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Martinez-Rivera; mother, Mary C. Rivera-Ortiz; nephew who was like a son, Timothy J. Rivera; father, Fidel Rivera Sr.; God-father, Vidal Martinez; grandparents, Alberto and Juanita Martinez and Alberto Rivera. Tommy was currently employed at the Pojoaque Pueblo Supermarket and worked in several management positions. Tommy enjoyed working and interacting with customers and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He adored his mother and cherished his nephews and nieces and will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Mr. Rivera is survived by his sister, Gina Rivera Gonzales and husband Emilio Gonzales of Edgewood; brother, Fidel Rivera Jr. and Deeanna Montoya of Chili; step-sister, Lisa Montoya and husband Gary of Corral de Piedra; nieces, Dyvine Rivera and Angel and Ashley Gonzales; nephews, Ivan, Justin and Fabian Montoya; paternal grandmother, Filomena Rivera of Ojo Caliente; aunts and uncles, Laura and Dennis Atencio of Dixon, Tillie and Gilbert Trujillo of Cundiyo, Frances Lopez and companion Eloy of Española, Virgil and Lucy Martinez of Chimayo, Dennis Martinez of Pojoaque, Albert Martinez and companion Gloria of Albuquerque; Gilbert Rivera of Ojo Caliente, Aggie Sotelo-Rivera of Ojo Caliente, Felipe Rivera of Hernandez, Macario Rivera of Ojo Caliente; very close and special best friend who he could confide in, Missy Romero Mascareñas; and numerous other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Rock Christian Church in Española on Riverside Drive. A rosary will be recited on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Antonio Rivera, Justin Rivera, Martin Rivera, Walter Atencio, Adrian Martinez, Adam Martinez, Neil Gonzales, Dyvine Rivera, Angel Gonzales, Ashley Gonzales, Dela Trujillo and Anthony Cata he was his best man for his wedding.
