Thomas Michael Vigil

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Michael Vigil, a resident of San Pedro. Thomas was born on September 5,1970, and passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2024.

Thomas was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend. His smile, kindness, and friendly personality will always be remembered. He was a very hard-working, reliable individual and never hesitated to provide a helping hand. Grandpa “Mas” enjoyed spending time with his twin grand babies. They brought him great joy. Thomas enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley. Thomas was employed with Jemez Coop as a Vegetation Manager. His career included working at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Smiths.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother Miquelita Vigil, Maternal Grandparents Benito and Josefita Trujillo, Paternal Grandparents Elizardo and Trinidad Vigil, Uncles and Aunts Cenobio Quintana, Tony and Georgia Sanchez, Tobias Vigil, Anastacio and Manuelita Martinez, Father-in-law Richard Martinez, half-brother Andrew Vigil and grandparents in-law Levi and Gregorita Trujillo.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 34 years Sheila Vigil, his Son James Thomas Vigil (Kathy), Grandchildren James Jr. and Khaliah Vigil, fur babies Kiah and Peanut, Father Tomas Elizardo Vigil Sr. (Virginia), Sisters, Frances Rodriguez (Henry), and Judy Fresquez (Gene), Mother and Father in-law, Nina and Lawrence Torrez, Sister-in-law Crystal Martinez, Aunt Matilda Quintana, Uncles Ernest Trujillo (Ida), Benny Martinez, Aunt Connie Vigil, Aunts Sarah Chavez (Alfred), Evelyn Martinez (Dennis), Molly Cordova, Lydia Martinez, Nieces and Nephews Deondra Rodriguez, Raquel Rodriguez, Rico Rodriguez, Joshua Fresquez, Mikaela Fresquez, Savannah Ulibarri, Veronica and Davina Fresquez, very close friend, who was like a brother, Mike Duran, other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will take place on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 5:00 pm in the Sangre De Cristo Chapel, DeVargas Funeral Home. Rosary will follow at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10:00 amat the Holy Family Catholic Church, Chimayo. A Burial will take place at a later date. 

Serving as Pallbearers are Gene Fresquez, Joshua Fresquez, Rico Rodriguez, Mike Duran, Mario Ulibarri and Ralph Sanchez.

Honorary Pallbearers are his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
