Theresa Maria Chacon

Theresa Maria Chacon, wife, mother and grandmother passed away August 19, 2023 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. 

She was born in Espanola to Isabel and Genoveva Garcia, who have preceded her in death. Also preceded in death by her oldest son Alex Chacon; In laws Juan and Ignacita Chacon; one sister and four brothers; Cristerna Salazar, Eligio Garcia, Mizel Garcia, Elipio Garcia and Alfred Garcia.  As well as one sister and three brothers in law; Marie (Belen) Garcia-Chacon, Melvin Chacon, Leroy Chacon, and Robert (Bobby) Chacon. 

She is survived by husband of 52 yrs, Johnny Chacon; children Vanessa and Husband Sean Joseph, and Jeremiah Chacon and fiance Davina Montoya. Grandchildren: Lynda, Reina, Sevastian, Mya, and Carmella.

Theresa worked for the State of New Mexico for 26 years. 

She will be remembered for her strong faith, love of her grandchildren, and strength in the face of difficulties.

Serving as pallbearers: Amos Garcia, Louie Salazar, Joseph Montoya, Antonio Valerio, Sean Joseph and Sevastian Martin. 

A rosary will be recited on August 30th  at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Church. Followed by church services at 11:00AM. Theresa will be laid to rest at The Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00PM on that same day.
