Theodore (Ted) M. Martinez, age 81, a lifelong resident of Chamita, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at his home following a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his son, Ted Martinez Jr.; parents, Miguel and Juanita Martinez; brothers, Tomas (Tom), Frank and Victor Martinez; sister, Rita; a close niece, Georgette Martinez; father and mother in law, Edwardo and Luisita Sanchez of Chamita; brothers in law, Tony and wife Georgia, Ben, Eddie Jr. Ted is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Carmen Martinez of Chamita; daughter, Debbie and husband Daniel of Chamita; two grandchildren, Dominic, Denise and companion Benson Johnson; great-grandsons, Honovi Mateo and Noah Ayani; brother, Severo and Mary of Bernalillo, two sisters in laws, Cordelia Martinez of Velarde and Bertha Sanchez of Chamita, and rose and husband Ernesto Macarenas of Chamita; close nephews, David and Benjie Martinez; as well as by other close nieces, nephews, relatives and friends from Chimayo and Colorado. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at the San Pedro Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ernest and Michael Mascareñas, Armando Atencio, Benson Johnson, Daniel and Benjie Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Denise and Dominic Martinez, Honovi and Noah Johnson and Orlando Serna. The family of Theodore (Ted) M.
