TERESITA IRENE ARCHULETA, 75, a resident of Velarde, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josehelario and Carolina Montoya; parents-in-law, Vicente and Deluvina Archuleta; paternal grandparents, Maximanio and Juanita Montoya; maternal grandparents, Pemenio and Lugarda Trujillo. Teresita loved to cook, travel, camping, outdoors and loved to dance and listen to music. She loved her family and cared for a great-grandson and loved him as her concentido. Her son would take her flowers every week and she was honored to receive them. She was a blessed wife, good mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her only sister, Alice Salazar and special brother-in-law, who was like a brother, Ruben Salazar. Mrs. Archuleta is survived by her husband, Jose A. Archuleta of Velarde; children, Theresa Coffeen and companion Norman Montoya of Velarde, Angela Parrott and husband Jayce of Abiquiu, Brenda Abeyta and husband Victor of Ohkay Owingeh, Adrian Archuleta , Jr. and partner William Ittner of Velarde; grandchildren, Mark Coffeen and wife Beverly, April Chacon and husband Cielo, Jason Abeyta, Luke Parrott, Felicia Abeyta, Rhiannon Jaramillo and Emily Abeyta; great-grandchildren, Antonio, Nicholas, and Julian Chacon, Kyle, Kevin, Cody and Caylee Coffeen and Damian Diaz; sister, Alicia Salazar of Lyden and her family Barbara Salazar, Ruben Salazar, III and Carolina Vigil and husband Daniel; special brother-in-law, Ruben Salazar and wife Viola and numerous other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Owen from Los Alamos Medical Center and staff, Ambercare Hospice, Española Visiting Nurses and Father Brito for all the visits. Public visitation will begin on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde. Burial to follow at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery in Velarde with the following serving as pallbearers, Mark Coffeen, Luke Parrott, Jason Abeyta, Cielo Chacon, Jayce Parrott, Norman Montoya, William Ittner, Victor Abeyta and Eddie Herrera. The family of Teresita Irene Archuleta has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
