Teddie Valdez

TEDDIE VALDEZ , 78, a resident of Canjilon, was called up to Heaven to be with our Lord on Monday, April 27, 2020. She was born on December 18, 1941 to Tomas and Francesca Maestas.  She was a sibling of six sisters and three brothers. Teddie was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Francesca Maestas; granddaughter, Erika Mendez; grandson, Anthony David Valdez; brothers, Manuel Maestas, Adan Maestas, and Tomas (Junior) Maestas; sisters, Ester Maestas, Susana Leyba, Corrina Garcia, and Laura Garcia.  Teddie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Antonio (Tony) Valdez; daughter, Annette Valdez; sons, Anthony Valdez, Carlos Valdez (Marcella) and Joaquin Valdez (Anita); granddaughter, Antoinette Valdez (Cody); grandsons, Carlos Valdez, Jose Sotelo, Manuel Valdez (Heather) and Justin Valdez; great-granddaughters, Karamiah Valdez, Santana Rain Martinez, and Gabrielle Valdez; grandsons, Xavier Valdez and Andrew Valdez; sisters, Porfy Maestas and Odelia Maestas; special nephew, Manuel (Brooks) Maestas; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends. We will miss our yearly early birthday calls of “Las Mananitas” from her, she would call all her family members on their birthday and play them this special song. Teddie was a woman of God and was always willing to share HIS word with anybody, whether she knew you or not. Teddie loved to go to church and always loved spending time with her spiritual brothers and sisters.  Teddie’s faith and devotion to the Lord is so endearing and true, she was ready to rejoice in His Heaven!  Serving as pallbearers are Manuel (Brooks) Maestas, Carlos Valdez, Jose Sotelo, Manuel Valdez, Justin Valdez and Cody Martinez. Private services will be held. The family of Teddie Valdez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
