Tammy Maes, age 51, a resident of Espanola, formerly of Canjilon, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, following a short illness with pneumonia.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Bridgette T. Cordova; her maternal grandparents Juanito and Celestina Maes; paternal grandparents Eloy and Lugardita Cordova; Uncles Tommy and Adolfo Maes, Alfonso, Walter, Lee, Harry, and Juan de Dios Cordova; Aunt Margaret Alvarez; Niece Patricia Garcia.
Tammy is survived by her parents Nelson and Eva Cordova; brothers Nelson Cordova Jr. (Vanessa), Ernie (Dave), Matthew, Walter (Nan); sister Jackie Martinez; Aunts/Sisters Gloria, Priscilla (Abel), Evelyn, Marie, Mary Lou (Tony), Virginia (Archie), Rosemary (Joe), Barbie (Michael), Melanie (Ken), Nora (Santiago), Uncles/Brothers Fernando (Dorothy),Fermin, Juanito (Antoinette), Joseph (Lupe), Nestor (Patsy). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, many cousins, and her beloved “baby” cat Simba.
A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Espanola. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately after the rosary at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Cordova Catholic Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Adolfo Maes, Daniel Maes, Kenny Suazo, Clayton Megariz, Thomas Maes, Juan Maes, Adreien Jaramillo, and Rodney Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are her nieces and nephews.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Presbyterian Espanola Hospital for the excellent medical care they provided to Tammy and the comfort extended to her family.
