\r\nSylvia Ann Ocaña, age 51, a lifelong resident of El Rito, passed away unexpectedly from this life on Friday, April 11, 2014. She was born on July 27, 1962. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph; parents, Aniceto and Juanita Alire; brothers, Michael and Larry Alire, as well as numerous other loving relatives. Sylvia devoted her life to the loving care of her daughter Monique and recently adopted grandson Cruzito. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and great friend to all who shared her life. May she rest in peace. She is survived by her loving husband, Tommy Ocaña; daughter, Monique; adopted grandson, Cruzito; her beloved grandchildren, Selena and Sebastian and their mother Monique Montoya; sisters, Gloria, (Juan), Joanne (Nick), Dina (Chris); brothers, Toby (Marie) and Andrew (Carla); father and mother in law, Eutimio and Mary Ocaña; sisters in law, Joyce (Richard) and Lola; brothers in law, Nick and Arthur; beloved niece, Peggy Martinez; God daughter, Candace Alire; very special friends, Cindy and companion Gabriel and all her children, Sativa, Espy and Kayla, as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. Rosary wil be held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 7:00p.m. at the San Juan Nepumuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 1:30p.m. also at the San Juan Nepumuceno Catholic Church in El Rito, with burial to follow at the El Rito Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Nick, Arthur and Antonio Ocaña, Gabriel Chavez, Larry Jaramillo, Jeffrey Benson, Lorie Sanchez and Candace Alire. Honorary pallbearers will be, Peggy and Jenna Martinez, Diana and Amber Ocaña, Sharon and Jeremy Alire and Michael Alire Jr., Crystal and Janice Martinez. The family would like to thank everyone for their presence at the services, visits, monetary gifts, words of consolation, etc. The family of Sylvia Ann Ocaña has entrusted the care of their beloved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
