Susie R Vigil

May 9,1937 - August 1, 2021

A resident of Mora, NM, Susie R Vigil passed away peacefully at her home.  Susie was born to Belamino and Rebecca Romero, and grew up in Chacon, NM with her 6 sisters and 3 brothers.

In 1956, she married Evaristo "Tito" Vigil and they had five beautiful children, Paul, Frances, Cindy (Stef), Loraine (Lulu), and Anita.  After moving to Arvada CO, Susie attended Wheatridge Beauty School and completed the program.  In 1973, she moved her family to Mora and opened her own business.  She worked in beauty shops for over 40 years.

Apart from her business, Susie enjoyed picking choke cherries and making her jelly.  She made every jar with love for her friends and family to enjoy.  Picking pinon and spinach were other favorite pastimes.  By doing this she taught everyone many life lessons, but most important to her was our time to be together as a family.  Her grandkids loved taking turns picking spinach and pinon with their Pita.

Susie enjoyed playing BINGO and dancing with her  "Viejito" Joe V Dimas.  She loved playing BINGO so much that she started driving the BINGO van from Mora to Espanola picking up friends along the way.

The Mora Fiestas were special to Susie and she loved spending time with family and friends.  If you ever stopped at her house there would always be coffee to drink, food to eat, and stories to tell.  She always called anyone who stopped by "my babies".

Susie was preceeded in death by her parents Belamino and Rebecca Romero,  brothers  Steve, Frank, and John.  Sisters Antonia Mondragon and Miss Bea Trujillo.  Daughter Loraine "Lulu" Vigil.  Evaristo "Tito" Vigil and Joe V Dimas.

She is survived by her children Paul (Carmen), Frances (Pete), Stef, and Anita.  Seven Grandchildren William Johnson, Rebecca (Tom) Hohner, Antoinette Romo (Tim), April Martinez, Jessica (Justin) Marquez, Tito Vigil, and Sarah (Bryan) Cantu.  Sixteen Great Grandchildren: Yara, Lilly, Liam, Lucas, Andrew, Waylon, Joshua, JW, JP, Jayce, Amariah, Ana, Matt, Daniel, Jeremiah, and Annie Mae.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 7th at 11am at the Mt Calvary Assembly of God.  Following Susie's request to be cremated, a private family burial will be held at a later date.
