Susie - Age 60 - Chamita/Ohkay Owingeh - Sanchez

SUSIE SANCHEZ, 60, a resident of Chamita and Ohkay Owingeh went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Silviano and Jesusita Sanchez; sisters, Andrietta Panas and Angie Martinez and brother, Michael Sanchez. Susie had a big heart who welcomed everyone into her home. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother and was always there for them. Ms. Sanchez is survived by her children, Ross Garcia, Jr. and companion Rebecca Povijua, Eli Garcia and companion Stephanie Povijua, Stacey Garcia-Padilla and husband Andres; one and only grandson who was the light of her life, Nicodemus Castillo; companion, Henry Herrera; brothers, Leo Sanchez and wife Cres, Arnold Sanchez and wife Eva and Torbio Sanchez, Paul Sanchez, Loren Sanchez and wife Maria and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial to follow at the San Pedro Catholic Cemetery with the following serving the family as pallbearers, Andres Padilla, Douglas Hutchinson, Jacob Sanchez, Jake Cata, Joey Rivas, Jose Maestas, Lorenzo Sanchez and Ramon Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be; Nicodemus Castillo and all her friends from Chamita and Ohkay Owingeh. The family of Susie Sanchez has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
