Steven Mark Montoya

Steven Mark Montoya, 54, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in the Espanola Valley on June 30, 1969. 

Steven was preceded in death by his mother Bernie Guinn and his father Harold Guinn Sr.; grandparents Steferino and Elviria Valdez; uncle Fernando Valdez and Isidoro Valdez; nephew John Ray Gurule. 

Steven is survived by his caring, loving wife Rhonda Montoya of 29 years; his two beautiful daughters Sabrina (Kevin) and Miranda (Andres); and his grandchildren Nevaeh, Josiah, Jeremiah, and Kasey; brothers Chris Montoya (Denise) and Harold Guinn (Maria); sisters Dolares Panas (Charlie) and Suzanne Panas (Jacob); and all of his nieces and nephews.

Steven was a loving, protective, hard-working husband, father, and brother. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, cooking for his family, and being a mechanic. He was a die-hard Cowboys fan, loved riding motorcycles with his brothers and sisters especially during Memorial Day weekend. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. We love you so much Steven.

A Public Viewing will take place on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 5:00 pm, with Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.  Mass will be at 2:00 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo, NM, on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Serving as Pallbearers are Kevin Montoya, Andres Maestas, Harold Guinn, Jacob Panas, Chris Montoya and Henry Trujillo.
