Stephen Vigil

Stephen “Teffy” Vigil was born May 18, 1965, a resident of Canjilon for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his Father, Vidal Vigil, Mother Atocha, sisters Nancy and Virginia “Pinky,” brothers Lawrence, Vidal Robert, Kenneth and Ted; paternal Grandparents Agapito & Delphinia Vigil, maternal grandparents Ramon & Beroniz Martinez.

He is survived by his sister Rubina Vigil & family, brother Norman & Rosalie Vigil & family, sister Brenda Vigil & family, brother Wayne and Bernadette Vigil, sister Jackie and Phil Martinez & family, seven nieces, eleven great nieces, nine nephews, thirteen great nephews, and six great, great nephews.

While living at the Peach Group Home in Los Alamos he worked at Time Out Pizza, McDonald’s and retired from Smith’s. Teffy was involved in the Special Olympics’ and participated in Bowling, Track and Field and Swimming. He loved his music, dancing, hot wheel cars and his Lobos. He had bins and bins of hot wheel cars and at one point couldn’t be found without an orange soda.

A Public Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 25, 202,5 at 5:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 pm, in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory in Espanola, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11:00 am in San Juan De Nepomuceno Catholic Church in Canjilon, NM, with a burial to follow at the Canjilon Cemetery.
