Shane Herrera

SHANE D. HERRERA, 40, a resident of Velarde, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Pittsburg, PA where he was residing. He was preceded in death by his father, David Lopez; step-father, Robert L. Quintana; great-grandmothers, Alice Lopez and husband Daniel Lopez, and Rosanna Herrera and husband Narcisco. Mr. Herrera is survived by his mother, Elaine Herrera of Velarde; sisters, Crystal Espinoza and husband Kenny of Denver and Charlotte Martinez of Velarde; brother, Bobby Herrera and wife Rayleen; daughters, Shanel Herrera of Santa Fe, Maria Herrera of Pittsburg, PA; God-daughter, Carmella Flood of Colorado; companion of 14 years, Anna Haney; aunts, Jeanette and Kenneth Flood of Colorado and Belen and husband of Colorado; uncles, Andrew Lopez and wife Liz of Albuquerque and Jimmy Lopez of Albuquerque; nephews, Gabriel, Lorenzo and Bobby, Jr.; nieces, Nevaeh, KayAnna, Serenity, Lilianna and Leyla and many other relatives and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a wake to follow at 6:00 p.m. and a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh. Burial to follow at the Alcalde Catholic Cemetery. Reception will be held at the Ohkay Owingeh Parish Hall.
