Seferino Serrano Jr.

Seferino Serrano Jr., 63, a resident of Española, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcelina and Seferino Serrano Sr.; son, Tommy Serrano. Mr. Serrano loved the race track, playing pool and above all being out in nature hunting. Mr. Serrano is survived by his wife of 41 years, Thelma; sons, Eddie Serrano Sr. of San Marcos, Texas, Chris Roybal (Christina) of Chili, Marty Serrano of Ranchitos, daughter, Melinda Serrano of Española; grandchildren, Adrian, Jeremiah, Alonzo, Anika, Jacob, Macky, Marcelina, Nicholas, Iesha, Samantha,, Eddie Jr., two great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella Lujan, Evangeline Archuleta, Yvonne Serrano, Linda Carnley, Annie Jaramillo (Joel), Jane Ortiz (Armando), Joyce Marquez, Susie Aveldano (Manuel), brother, Dennis Serrano; sisters-in-law, Charlene Trujillo (Frutoso), Marie B. ( late Melvin Montoya Sr.), Lillian Brito (Joe), brothers-in-law, Roger Montoya (Patricia); God children, Angel Trujillo, Steven Serrano, and Edwina Romero; favorite cousin, Andy Serrano; special niece Valerie Gonzales, and other numerous relatives. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada, with a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers are Dennis Serrano, Jacob Roybal, Roger Montoya, Steven Serrano, Joe Brito, and Fabian Trujillo. The family of Seferino Serrano Jr. has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
