Sebedello - age 80 - El Duende Ortega

Sebedello Ortega, 80, a resident of El Duende passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tomasita; daughter, Annette Gonzales; grandsons, James Sanchez, Jr., Steven Quintana, III, and Gilbert Gonzales, Jr.; parents, Onesimo and Maria Inez Ortega; sisters, Candelaria (Candy) Garcia, and Santanita Anna Esquibel. Sebedello was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Sebedello was a roofer, he loved being a women’s baseball coach, and was a Veteran. He also loved selling the newspaper, and carne seca, and was involved in politics and the State Legislature. Sebedello is survived by his daughters, Dorlinda and husband Jose (Juice) Valdez, Nora and husband Tommy Gurulé, Geraldine and husband Rustico (Rusty) Carmona, Antonette Quintana and companion Anthony Baca, Christine Ortega and companion Christina Cardenas, Valerie Ortega and companion Elias Martinez; son, Onesimo and wife Roberta Ortega all from El Duende; sister, Sally Muller; brothers-in-law, Joe Esquibel, Tony Atencio and wife Lourdes; close nephew, Lolo Atencio and wife Jennie; sister-in-law, Floraine Atencio, 28 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and all his God-children. Sebedello will be greatly missed by numerous family and friends. Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 6:00p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to follow 7:00p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 11:00a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Española with burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be, Adrian Sanchez, Peter Sanchez, Samuel Carmona, Miguel Carmona, Ernesto Valdez, Andy Quintana, and Tomas Ortega. Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
