Samuel Torrez Sr.

SAMUEL TORREZ Sr., 84, a lifelong resident of Petaca, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eufemia and Maclovio Torrez Sr.; brothers, Ciriaco, Maclovio, and Edwardo Torrez, sisters, Senovia Torrez and Pricilla Serna. Samuel is survived by the mother of his children Lucy Lovato; daughter, Mildred Torrez, sons, Martin, Samuel Jr, James Torrez and wife Tiffany; two sisters, Placida Roybal and May Torrez Gonzales; sister-in-law, Stella Torrez; step-children, Morris and Virgina Lovato; grandchildren, Kaleb Torrez and Julian Lovato; plus numerous other nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Public visitation will begin on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente with, Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the La Petaca cemetery with the following serving as pallbears, Adolfo Torrez Sr., Louie Torrez, Morris Lovato, Julian Lovato, Joe Andrew Trujillo, and Adolfo Torrez Jr.. The family of Samuel Torrez has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
