Sandra Luella Sanchez

Sandra Luella Sanchez was born January 3, 1956, in Embudo, New Mexico. She passed away peacefully on May 26, 2023, after a valiant 2 ½ year battle against Glioblastoma. She was dearly loved by her extended family and many long-time friends who were very attentive with daily phone calls, prayers, and frequent visits during her illness.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Joe G. and Bernie L. Sanchez; companion Ray Herrera; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is survived by her companion Rosario Perez; Sisters - Loyola Salazar, Lorraine Gurule, Mabel Willaman and husband Mike; Nephews - Dean Gurule, Damon Salazar (Cyndi); Nieces - Daleen Martinez (Carlos), Janelle Borrego (Jeff), Michelle Robbins (Andy), and Karla Matts (Jared); Cousin Michael Sanchez, Jr., who was very close and dear to her. She is also survived by many close and dearly loved great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on June 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, New Mexico. Burial will take place immediately after the mass at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Santa Cruz.
