Ruth Medina

RUTH MARY MEDINA , 74 years old, a resident of Chamisal, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandma, and friend to many. Ruth was born on July 10, 1944 to Castulo & Emilia Vasquez in Vallecitos. She loved going to Colorado to see her family, going to the casinos to try to win big and loved her Price Is Right, Let’s Make A Deal and her Westerns. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Nancy Vasquez; nephew, Ivan Vasquez and uncle, Lafo Romero. Ms. Medina is survived by her daughters, LouAnn (Moises) Rodarte, Annette Gallegos, and Audrey Medina; 9 grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jose (Ramona) Vasquez and Patrick (Pam) Vasquez and childhood best friend, Reggie Pacheco and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The Medina family welcomes all whom would like to visit on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Peñasco with a rosary to be recited at 11:00 a.m. and the Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated immediately after at 12:00 p.m. Serving the family as pallbearers will be, Michael Rodarte, Anthony Medina, James Gallegos, Abel Vasquez, Gilbert Vasquez and Rodrick Dominguez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, Anthony Medina, Jr. and Chanel Naranjo. A lunch celebrating Ruth will be held at the “Juan Abeyta” FireHouse in Chamisal following services. The family of Ruth Mary Medina has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral & Crematory of the Española Valley.
